Summary

Developing and implementing health, safety, security, and environmental policies to ensure a safe workplace and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities include conducting risk assessments, site inspections, and training, as well as investigating incidents and reporting on safety matters. The role requires ensuring adherence to HSSE standards, improving safety performance, and managing emergency preparedness.

Job Responsibilities

  • HSSE

  • Policy and procedure development: Create, update, and enforce HSSE policies, procedures, and management plans, ensuring they align with corporate requirements and legal regulations.

  • Risk management: Conduct risk assessments, identify potential hazards, and implement preventative measures and corrective actions to mitigate risks.

  • Compliance and auditing: Ensure compliance with HSSE standards, laws, and regulations through regular inspections and audits of work sites, equipment, and personnel.

  • Training and awareness: Develop and deliver HSSE training programs for staff and contractors, conduct new employee orientations, and manage emergency preparedness training.

  • Incident investigation: Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and propose improvements to prevent future occurrences.

  • Reporting and analysis: Prepare and submit reports on safety performance, incident investigations, and audit findings. Compile statistics and analyze trends to drive continuous improvement.

  • Stakeholder communication: Advise management and staff, and communicate on HSSE matters.

  • Working to cover the role in SA and UEA if required.

  • Deliveries

  • Work closely with the manufacturing team and the field service operations to manage any HSSE issues that may arise during activities at customer sites

  • Act as technical advisor to management, operations, employees, and other functional groups to facilitate continual HSSE improvements.

  • Drive an interdependent safety culture where employees look after each other and are responsible for health, safety, and environmental practices and conditions.

  • Drive HSSE performance metrics and risk mitigation improvements across field services and site operations.

  • Authority

  • Stop any unsafe act immediately

  • To request information needed to perform any assigned task

  • Advise management of any issues affecting product/service quality

Required Qualifications

Education:

B Sc. in Occupational Safety and Health or Environmental Management OR • Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health • NEBOSH Certificate or Environmental Management Certificate • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite • Possession of a valid Driver's License.

  • Experience: Two (2) years of experience in Administration of Safety Function which has included Training, Program Monitoring and Compliance
