The opportunity
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Metallurgical Technician to join our high‑performing Processing Team at our Duketon Gold Operation.
This permanent, site‑based role offers the opportunity to apply your technical and operational expertise in a dynamic, production focused environment whilst working alongside a collaborative and experienced Metallurgical Team.
This is a FIFO role (8:6 roster) from Perth.
The main responsibilities of this role include:
- Conducting all tasks safely and following company policies and procedures. Adhering to the company safety campaigns, e.g. My Choices (BE SAFE)
- Performing metallurgical inspections and samplings in the processing plant
- Conducting calibration and maintenance to the metallurgical equipment and in-field analysers, e.g. Cynoprobe cyanide analyser, pH meter, DO meter
- Setting up and conducting lab test works (e.g. leaching test, size-assay distribution, diagnostics leach, lime availability) and plant trials (mill survey, CIL profile, acid wash and elution profiles, cyclone sizing, etc.) under the guidelines of Metallurgist
- Sampling audits across the processing plant and maintaining autosamplers
- Sample preparation for external analysis
- Preparing working stock, calibration and reagent solutions as directed
- Conducting analysis for plant trial and lab test work data
- Assisting Metallurgist in preparing reports as required
About you
To be successful for this role, you have:
- Demonstrated site-based experience as a Metallurgical/Laboratory Technician
- Hands on and proactive in conducting inspections and test works
- Demonstrated skills in data analysis and report writing
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot issues as they arise
- Attention to details, enthusiasm to learn, be highly motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team
- Willing to work night shift when required
