Job Description:
As a Virtualization Engineer, you will be responsible for engineering, implementation, and support of global compute and private cloud initiatives across the world. You will assist in setting the global standard for hardware and software purchases, and provide senior level installation and configuration of new hardware and software. Our team will utilize your systems engineering experience to conduct capacity planning, advanced problem diagnosis and resolution, system monitoring, error reporting, and system maintenance. The ability to provide documentation, ensure system, storage, and network availability through collaborative processes will also be keys to success.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree and minimum 2 years experience in a network engineering and/or support role. 2 additional years of applicable experience in lieu of a degree.
• Demonstrated experience developing scripting for automation and configuration management
• Strong understanding of advanced virtualization principals, including SDNs and storage virtualization, is required
• 3+ years of VMware vSphere and vCenter
• Understanding and some experience with software defined networking
• Scripting experience, PowerCLI, or Python
• Configuration management experience (e.g. Puppet, Ansible)
• Cloud platform experience: Openstack, AWS, or Azure
• Understanding of SAN fundamentals
• Well-developed verbal, written, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Able to write proposals or papers while acting as a vendor liaison, making presentations to customer, client, and professional peers, as well as work closely with upper management.
• Experience with data analysis and statistical tools
• Self-starter and ability to work with limited coaching
